About the Author
Marian Edna Brannan Glessner was born on April 19, 1920 in Shell Creek, Nebraska. Being raised during the Great Depression had a profound impact on her life and is reflected in many of her stories. At age 20, she attended Gordon Bible College and served as a missionary for three years on the Pine Ridge Reservation, better known as Wounded Knee. She met her husband, Ronald, at Pacific Bible College in Portland, Oregon. They were married in 1946 and served 19 years together in church ministry in the Pacific Northwest until his death in 1965. She then embarked upon a third career as an elementary school teacher as she raised her four children, Ron, Raynell, Tom and Jennifer. Marian began her writing career after retiring from school teaching in 1985. In 2013, her daughter compiled her writings for publication. Eden and the Siege and Other Stories of My Life is a collection of short stories, both fiction and non-fiction, based on the many experiences of Marian Edna Brannan Glessner's life.
