Reviews of Eden and the Siege
A real jewel of life and spirit!
Recently purchased this book (2 copies) one for myself and my family. Learned to appreciate a life of a young determined woman who rose above many life challenges that I had never known before. I appreciated the photos, the sincerity and clarity of the writing and the historical references made to a Native American/tribe Pine Ridge Reservation, better known as Wounded Knee-that I really did not have any knowledge of before reading this book. Societal, personal and spiritual issues are powerfully addressed in a forward, easy to read fashion which are as relevant today as they were back then. Best enjoyed in a quiet place, for reflection. An especially good fit for young and mature women to learn directly from a real jewel of life and spirit! -- S. Becker, Issaquah, WA
Grace and dignity
Absolutely wonderful. I know the author and the talents she has. She's a remarkable woman who has been through many difficulties and come through them with grace and dignity. Such a wise, caring person. I recommend this to everyone of all ages. -- D. Ball, Coeur d'Alene, ID

A remarkable life story
This is a remarkable series of stories about the life of a rather ordinary 93 year old retired pastor's wife, retired teacher, former missionary to the Lakota Indians & mother of four responsible, well-adjusted children, no small task while living through the Great Depression & World War II. Each of these stories is told in a unique, interesting & homey manner with a catchy title to each episode. There is a mixture of drama, touching emotion and humor as each sometimes brief story unfolds. My wife & I were competing to see who would finish the book first. There is just enough imagination written into the various stories to keep one guessing, "Did this really happen this way.??" Overall one finds a unique personal life story that produces a witness & testimony to a loving Christian woman living faithfully for Jesus and bringing honor to her family and bringing glory to God! -- L. Nelson, Seattle, WA
